Library Membership
Full Membership
Membership is FREE to everyone who lives in or pays property or business taxes in New Tecumseth and the contracting municipalities of Adjala-Tosorontio, Mono and Mulmur. Library membership is also FREE to residents of Bradford-West Gwillimbury, Caledon, Essa, Innisfil and King Township & vice versa through reciprocal borrowing agreements, with the provision of a membership card from that library as part of the ID presented when registering for a card. Members of the New Tecumseth Public Library (NTPL) can join the libraries within these municipalities as well, with presentation of our library card along with required identification.
Upon payment of an ANNUAL FEE, a Non-Resident library membership will be granted to any person who does not meet the above qualifications for a fee of $30.
The personal information collected from you when applying for membership will only be used for the purpose of registration. In matters relating to privacy and access to information, the New Tecumseth Public Library is governed by the Ontario Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Getting a Card
To obtain a library card, bring in a piece of identification with your CURRENT address, such as a driver’s license, vehicle ownership, hospital card, or utility bill. Children younger than 16 years of age will require a signature of a parent or guardian on their registration form.
Please remember to bring your library card EVERY TIME you visit.
If you have a library card but need to renew and/or update your PIN, please visit/call any branch. Renewing is free.
If you have lost your card, we require identification and $3 for a replacement. Contact the library immediately to report a lost or stolen library card. You are responsible for anything borrowed on your card until it has been reported stolen.
