This workshop will examine the push and pull factors that had our ancestors leaving their countries of origins for a new life in a new country. We will learn of early types of Emigration schemes that helped our ancestors establish themselves in Canada, and the background history to the types of documentation that was created once they arrived. We will have a look at Immigrating groups of people and what history can tell us about why they left their home countries. We will review research suggestions to help us explore the large databases and find ancestors for ages.
