SUMMARY:Clay Canoe Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this hands-on\, Indigenous-led workshop. \nAs we transition into shorter and colder days\, let’s gather and engage in light conversation about ways that we can allow ourselves to put heavy things down for awhile. Learn about cedar and how it can help ground us. Listen to a story about the canoe and the teachings about what rest means to us. Create a special pinch pot clay canoe that will make the teachings all come together. \nTanya Gluvakov from Roots and Raven will guide us. \nTanya Gluvakov is the founder of Roots and Raven\, a botanical body care brand that focuses on Indigenous medicines\, connecting to land and Indigenous medicine garden projects. She is a mixed nation Mohawk woman with roots and family from Six Nations. Her motivation to teach\, create and help with Indigenous medicine resurgence projects comes from her connection to her grandmother Betty\, who taught her she could stand up and do hard things. Land is healer and holds us during difficult times. Community and connection heal us and help us move forward in a good way. \nIdeal for ages 16+
